V.O.Chidambaranar Port Handles Record Limestone Upto Sept, Registers YoY Growth of 53.84 %

V.O.Chidambaranar Port has handled 8,78,706 tonnes of Limestone up to September in this financial year 2025-26, reflecting a robust growth of 53.84 % compared to the 5,71,173 tonnes handled in the same period of the previous financial year 2024–25.
According to the port management, “This remarkable growth underscores the Port’s enhanced efficiency and its pivotal role in raw material imports for the construction and manufacturing sectors.”
CHAIRPERSON MEETS MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICIAL
Chairperson Susanta Kumar Purohit had held a productive meeting with Amitesh Kumar Sinha, IRAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
During the discussion, Purohit highlighted the transformative developmental projects underway at VOC Port, with a special focus on innovative AI and IT initiatives to enhance the ease of doing business.
MEETING WITH MISSION DIRECTOR FOR GREEN HYDROGEN
Susanta Kumar Purohit also met Abhay Bakre, Mission Director for Green Hydrogen at the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, to discuss advancing the green fuel ecosystem.
He emphasised that VOC Port is ideally positioned as a green methanol bunkering hub, supporting sustainable shipping. With our green methanol bunkering project and proximity to international sea routes, VOC Port is set to lead in green maritime solutions.
