After Six Years at the Helm as Vice Chancellor, Malini V. Shankar Bids Farewell to IMU

The Indian Maritime University (IMU) organised a farewell programme for Dr. Malini V. Shankar, IAS (Retd.), Vice-Chancellor, IMU, on the occasion of her superannuation on 22 July 2026.
During the programme, K. Saravanan, Registrar, IMU, highlighted the major achievements of the University during Dr. Shankar’s six-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
He highlighted the significant progress made in academics, research and consultancy, key administrative reforms, establishment of new departments and introduction of new academic programmes, signing of MoUs with national and international universities, strengthening of student support and placement activities, and substantial development of infrastructure across IMU campuses.
Dr. Rajoo Balaji, Pro Vice-Chancellor, IMU, along with the Controller of Examinations (CoE), Finance Officer (FO), other officers and staff members, attended the farewell programme and conveyed their appreciation for Dr. Shankar’s leadership and contribution to the growth and development of the University.
The officers and staff members congratulated Dr. Malini V. Shankar on her superannuation and extended their best wishes for good health, happiness and success in all her future endeavours.
