V.O. Chidambaranar Port Signs MoU with H2Global to Advance Export of Green Hydrogen

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, on 4 June 2026 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Global, represented by the H2Global Foundation and Hintco GmbH, becoming the first Indian port to partner with the European agency to explore the development of green hydrogen and clean shipping fuel trade corridors.
The partnership aims to facilitate the integration of port infrastructure for the export of green hydrogen and its derivatives from India to Germany and other European markets, while supporting innovative mechanisms for clean fuel production, long-term offtake arrangements, and the development of sustainable maritime fuel ecosystems.
The MoU was signed on behalf of VOCPA by A. Ganesan, Chief Mechanical Engineer, while Dr. Maximilian Held, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Solutions Lab & Shipping Initiative, H2Global Foundation, signed on behalf of H2Global. Timo Bollerhey, Co-Founder of H2Global and CEO of H2Global Holding & Hintco GmbH, Andrea Helf, CFO, and other officials participated virtually during the signing ceremony.
This strategic collaboration strengthens VOCPA’s vision of becoming a leading green port and a key gateway for clean energy exports, supporting India’s ambitions in green hydrogen production, sustainable shipping, and global energy transition.
