V.O. Chidambaranar Port Hosts Trade Meet in Coimbatore to Boost Exports

With a view to attract all types of cargoes originating from the Western Tamil Nadu and Kerala region, V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority, in association with Dakshin Bharat Container Terminal (DBGT), Tuticorin International Container Terminal (JM BAXi) and the EXIM trade fraternity of Tuticorin, organised a Trade Meet at Coimbatore on 12 September 2025.
The event featured presentations showcasing key advantages of the Port, its world-class container terminals and logistics service providers in Tuticorin. The interactive session, chaired by Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority, led to insightful deliberations and a comprehensive set of action points like establishing VOC Port Customer Relations Centre at Coimbatore, increasing free days at terminals for import containers, establishing an ICD at Pollachi, introduction of mobile app by terminals and repositioning of empty containers at Coimbatore.
