Record-Breaking Month for Kamarajar Port’s Container Handling

Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) has achieved a significant operational milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly container throughput of 71,020 TEUs at its Container Terminal, operated by AECTPL, in September 2026.
This marks the highest monthly container volume handled at the container terminal since the commencement of its operations in 2017.
The achievement surpasses the previous record of 67,561 TEUs, set in July 2026, underscoring the port’s continued growth in operational performance and container handling capabilities.
The collective contribution by the terminal operator, shipping lines and all stakeholders has been instrumental in achieving this record and further strengthening Kamarajar Port’s position as a key maritime gateway in the East Coast
