Paradip Port Handles Record Thermal Coal Unloading in Single Day

Continuing its streak of record-breaking operational excellence, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved its highest-ever single-day thermal coal unloading milestone. On 14 February 2026, Team PPA successfully unloaded a staggering 47 rakes, consisting of: 41 BOBRN (Bogie Open Bottom Rapid Discharge) rakes; 6 BOXN (Bogie Open High Sided) rakes.

P L Haranadh, Chairman of PPA, expressed his pride in the workforce, congratulating “Team PPA” for their dedication.

He noted that this milestone is not merely a number but a testament to the sustained efforts, meticulous planning, and robust operational infrastructure currently in place at the port. By optimizing turnaround times and streamlining cargo handling processes, PPA continues to solidify its position as a critical hub for India’s energy supply chain.

25th Invitation Cup Golf Tournament 2026 Held at Paradip

The Annual Invitation Golf Tournament of Paradip Golf Club was held at the Paradip Port Golf Course from 14 to 15 February 2026. The tournament was organised by Paradip Golf Club.

T. Venu Gopal, Deputy Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament. Asit Kumar Tripathy, EX-Chief Secretary of Odisha, and A. K. Bose, Advisor (Traffic), along with other Heads of Departments, distributed the prizes to the winners.

Akshaya Ch. Sutar of Paradip Golf Club emerged as Champion in the Handicap (0–10) category. Dr. Debadarshi Rath of Bhubaneswar Golf Club became Champion in the Handicap (11–19) category, while Ranjit Kr. Bomali of Paradip Golf Club won the Champion title in the Handicap (20–24) category. Shaswat Panda of Bhubaneswar Golf Club bagged the Best Gross award.

Paradip Golf Club President Susil Chandra Nahak, Working President Dr. Durga Prasad Sethy, Captain A. C. Sutar, and Secretary Manoj Kumar Mohanta conducted the tournament successfully. A total of 71 golfers from seven leading golf clubs from different parts of India participated in the tournament.
