Paradip Port Celebrates 100 Years of Indian Hockey, Announces New Hockey Stadium

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on 7 November 2025 celebrated 100 Years of Indian Hockey with great enthusiasm at Gopabandhu Kreeda Sansad, Paradip Port. The event reflected the spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and pride.

A thrilling hockey match between the Paradip Port Team and the Chatrapur Team was the highlight of the day, where Paradip Port Team emerged victorious with a 3–1 win.

The event was graced by P. L. Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, as the Chief Guest, and Himansu Sekhar Rout, Chief Engineer, Paradip Port Authority, as the Guest of Honour.

Outstanding contributors to Indian hockey were also felicitated on this occasion. As a token of respect, Namita Toppo, Olympian and International Player, received ₹25,000 cash award, Rashmita Minz, National Player, received ₹25,000 cash award, and Kalu Charan Choudhury, a renowned coach, received ₹11,000 cash award from the Port management. During the event, Haranadh announced the establishment of a new Hockey Stadium at Paradip Port, reaffirming the Port’s commitment to promoting sports and nurturing young talent.
