NTECL CEO Meets Chennai and Kamarajar Ports Top Officials, Discusses Logistics Coordination

Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of NTPC Tamilnadu Energy Company Limited (NTECL), a joint venture between India’s NTPC Ltd. (National Thermal Power Corporation) and TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation), which operates the large 1500 MW Vallur Thermal Power Station, near Ennore in Tamil Nadu,  on 19 December 2025 met S. Viswanathan, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, and Irene Cynthia, Managing Director, Kamarajar Port Limited, to discuss measures for improving coal rack movement and strengthening logistics coordination for NTECL’s operation.

During the interaction, discussions focused on enhancing efficiency in coal transportation, streamlining port–rail interface, and ensuring timely movement of coal to meet the operational requirements of the Vallur Thermal Power Project. The meeting underscored the importance of close coordination among NTECL, Chennai Port Authority, and Kamarajar Port Limited to address operational constraints and optimize coal evacuation systems.

Sanjay Kumar Sinha welcomed the continued support and cooperation of Chennai Port Authority and Kamarajar Port Limited and emphasized the need for sustained collaboration to further improve coal logistics efficiency, reliability, and turnaround time, thereby supporting uninterrupted power generation
