Navy Day Celebrations at Victory War Memorial Chennai

The Indian Navy celebrated Navy Day with great fervor and respect at Victory War Memorial in Chennai on 4 December. As part of the celebrations, a wreath-laying ceremony was held to pay homage to the brave men of Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Lt Gen V Sreehari, AVSM, SC, SM, General Officer Commanding Dakshin Bharat Area, and Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, NM, Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Area, led the ceremony, laying wreaths in honour of the fallen heroes.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, veterans, NCC cadets, school children and personnel from the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard and their families.
The Navy Day celebrations commemorate the Indian Navy’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War and highlight the service and sacrifices of Indian Naval personnel.
