Logistics Doyen Enters Cricket Arena, Becomes President of TNCA

Marking a new chapter in his long and checkered career, Thiruvalangadu Jagadeesan Srinivasaraj, a well-known figure in the Indian logistics circles, has been unanimously elected as the President of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), one of India’s most influential state cricket bodies in the country.

Currently, T J Srinivasaraj, who holds a master’s degree in Logistics, is the Managing Director of Freight Consol International Pvt Ltd and Freyer International Logistics Pvt Ltd, companies that back multiple teams in the TNCA league and sponsor the association’s women’s one-day and T20 competitions.

Srinivasaraj started his career in the express sector industry in the early 1990s as an operations staff and went on to establish a company called Triune Freight Private Ltd, a third-party logistics provider, in the late 1990s and registered his visionary business ideas among the EXIM trade fraternity. 

In December 2006, he sold Triune freight to one of the Fortune 500 companies in the world and later became the Vice President & Managing Director for South Asia.

Srinivasaraj’s zeal to move up the ladder in EXIM trade made him move out of the Fortune 500 company in 2017. Then he acquired around 10 companies, primarily from the logistics sector, to expand his vision for the trade.

Speaking to Port Wings at TNCA office, Srinivasaraj said, “The new plan for the next three years is to get a lot of players to play from the districts and also from the city. Because, we have developed a lot of satellite centers for the state players to use. So, we want a lot of players from the districts to come forward and use those facilities, so that they can come and play in Chennai, in competitive cricket, not only for the city, not only for the districts, we want them to go on to play for the state, and for India.”

For his contribution to the field of logistics, Srinivasaraj has won many awards till date. Under his leadership, he employs more than 1500 employees in India and around the world.

Speaking to Port Wings, a senior figure in the Chennai’s EXIM fraternity said, “It’s good to see a logistics man from a humble background adorn the most coveted seat in Indian cricket.”
