Kamarajar Port Surpasses MoU Targets Planned at India Maritime Week 2025; Signs MoUs Worth ₹26,055 Cr

As a prelude to India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) — a subsidiary of Chennai Port Authority and one of India’s fastest-growing major ports — has achieved a remarkable milestone by signing 25 Memorandum of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹26,055.53 crore, significantly surpassing its initial target of ₹15,000 crore.
According to a senior official from the port, of these, 12 MoUs valued at ₹23,937.55 crore were formally exchanged during IMW 2025 in Mumbai, in the presence of the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, marking a major highlight of the event.
The MoUs were signed with a diverse range of partners, comprising both new and existing stakeholders, underscoring KPL’s expanding role in driving port-led industrialization, infrastructure advancement, and sustainable growth.
The MoU’s encompass key focus areas such as: Port modernization and capacity augmentation; Logistics and connectivity enhancement; Renewable energy facilitation and green initiatives; Public–private collaboration for industrial development; and CSR and community development projects.
These partnerships reaffirm KPL’s commitment to building a future-ready, sustainable, and inclusive maritime ecosystem, aligning with India’s vision of becoming a global maritime leader.
