JNPA and Grand Port Maritime de Marseille Fos (GPMM) Sign MoU to Strengthen Maritime Ties

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), one of the premier container-handling ports in India, on 17 February 2026 signed an MoU with Grand Port Maritime de Marseille Fos (GPMM), for strengthening maritime ties between India and Europe.
According to a media statement, this MoU marks an important step in global maritime collaboration for the port authority and paves the way to enhance bilateral trade and maritime flows via JNPA and Marseille Fos, while fostering joint initiatives in port innovation, digitalization, energy transition, and operational excellence.
Besides, the MoU enable technical exchanges and capacity building in key areas, including port digitalization, smart port platforms, data interoperability, and green operations such as alternative fuels (LNG and hydrogen), Onshore Power Supply (OPS), and low-carbon bunkering.
This collaboration reflected a shared vision to build sustainable, technologically advanced, and globally connected port ecosystems, reinforcing JNPA’s role as a gateway to international trade.
It may be noted that JNPA operates five container terminals – NSFT, NSICT, NSIGT, BMCT and APMT, and also has a Shallow Water Berth for general cargo.
