FAPAA Holds 52nd Executive Council Meeting & Annual General Meeting in Kathmandu

The Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) hosted the 52nd Executive Council Meeting and Annual General Meeting of the Federation on Asia Pacific Air-cargo Associations (FAPAA) from 28-30 June 2026 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The FAPAA meeting, held over two days at the Marriott Hotel, Kathmandu, was attended by 30 delegates from nine of the 16 member countries and regions of the Federation.
This FAPAA annual conference is considered an ideal opportunity for members to touch base with each other and network with members of the host association as well as those involved in the local logistics industry.
FAPAA, by convening its regional members annually at this annual meeting, provides a valuable platform to exchange knowledge on the latest industry developments and to share critical insights on the practical and technical aspects of air freight forwarding.
Rajendra Sangraula, Chairman of NEFFA, welcomed the delegates to Kathmandu, whilst Dani Yahya, Chairman of FAPAA chaired the ECM and AGM meetings.
Prakash Singh Karki, Member of the House of Representatives, Nepal, & Past President and Current Chairman of the Advisory Committee of NEFFA was the guest speaker and provided an insight to the logistics industry in Nepal.
Topics in relation to IATA Cargo Agency Program and CASS, General Air Cargo activities, Air Cargo Security, Training and Education, Membership matters, were areas of importance discussed.
A crucial point of discussion was the implementation of the IATA Direct Airway bill changes rolled out from 1 July 2026.
The members expressed their strong reservations to this change of Resolution CAC/53 as this has a direct impact on their liability. It was discussed that this matter be differed as not adequate consultation had taken place between the different stakeholders in relation to insurance, liability etc, due to the changes.

Secretary – FMFF – Malaysia (Krishnan Chelliah), Hon. Treasurer – HAFFA – Hong Kong (Gary Lau), Hon. Auditor – TAFA – Thailand (Suchart Wongwai).
