As part of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026, Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) actively participated in the nationwide initiative “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”, with employees across its Project Offices, Regional Offices and onboard dredgers at various locations across India joining together for cleanliness and Shram Daan activities.
Under the initiative, DCIL employees collectively dedicated their time and efforts towards cleanliness through Shram Daan, reinforcing the message of collective responsibility and community participation in creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
At Tenneti Park, Visakhapatnam, a Beach Cleaning Drive and Shram Daan was organized under the leadership of Capt. S. Divakar, MD & CEO, DCIL. DCIL employees, along with members of the local community, enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive and actively contributed their physical efforts towards cleaning the beach.
During the drive, approximately 200 kgs of waste, including plastic waste, debris and other litter, were collected from the beach. The activity not only improved the cleanliness of the coastline but also generated awareness about responsible waste disposal and the importance of protecting marine and coastal ecosystems.
The “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” initiative was observed collectively across DCIL’s offices, project locations and dredgers, demonstrating that the spirit of Swachhata extended beyond a single location. Employees onboard dredgers and at project sites also participated in cleanliness activities and Shram Daan, making the initiative a truly organization-wide effort.
The initiative forms part of DCIL’s ongoing activities under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, reaffirming the Corporation’s commitment to cleanliness, environmental sustainability, responsible waste management and community engagement. Through such initiatives, DCIL continues to support the Government’s Swachhata initiatives and encourage its employees and stakeholders to actively contribute towards a cleaner and greener environment.
The SHS 2026 activities are being carried out under the guidance of Jasmeet Singh Bindra, IRTS, Chairman, DCIL & VPA, and Capt. S. Divakar, MD & CEO, DCIL, with emphasis on active participation, meaningful outreach and sustainable cleanliness practices.
