Reaffirming its commitment to provide customers with consistent and high-quality service, Avianca Cargo has added new A330P2F aircraft in its fleet. With a modern fleet and an expanding network, the airline is strengthening its role as a strategic partner in the region and expanding its cargo operations with the addition of an aircraft.

This aircraft joins Avianca Cargo’s fleet, operated in synergy with Avianca Cargo México, bringing the total to nine A330 freighters (six A330F and three A330P2F).

The newly added freighter has a capacity of more than 60 tons, and like the rest of the A330 family, it offers fuel efficiency, higher payload and volume capacity compared to other mid-sized freighters, and flexibility for medium-haul routes. These features allow Avianca Cargo to continue providing services tailored to customer needs while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Diogo Elias, CEO of Avianca Cargo, said: “At Avianca Cargo, we celebrate the expansion of our fleet with the arrival of the new A330P2F freighter, an aircraft with more than 13 years of history that now joins us to reaffirm our commitment to connectivity and service. Today, we reach more than 350 destinations with an expanded network and continue to grow our connections to new markets.”

Leaders in Flower Transport

In 2025 alone, the airline transported more than 100,000 tons of flowers from Ecuador and Colombia to the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

As part of its commitment to the sector, Avianca Cargo has made key investments to strengthen its services. These include the official opening of its new Jetflor facility at the Medellín terminal, an 850-square-meter space that increased handling capacity by 50%. The company also reconfigured its Miami cooler facility to keep perishables in optimal temperature conditions, improving service quality and boosting capacity by 83%.

“We are proud to be strategic partners and leaders in flower transport. This year we reaffirmed our leadership in shipments to the U.S., set a historic record, and achieved 8% growth during peak seasons, outpacing the sector,” Elias added.

In 2024, Colombia recorded an outstanding performance in flower exports, reaching $2.35 billion. This result, driven by a 13% increase in value and an 8% increase in volume, consolidated the country’s position as the world’s second-largest exporter. According to Asocolflores, Colombia remained the top supplier for key markets such as the United States and Spain.
