Air Cargo and Airport Commissionerate Chennai Celebrates Republic Day

The Air Cargo and Airport Commissionerate, Chennai, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India at the New Customs House, Meenambakkam. Dr. Manjula D. Hosmani, IRS, Commissioner of Customs, unfurled the National Flag.

Dr. Hosmani highlighted the evolving role of Customs as a key trade facilitator, citing the effectiveness of the Risk Management System (RMS) and Faceless Assessment Groups (FAG) in reducing dwell time and promoting a contactless, trust-based trade environment.

She also emphasized the Commissionerate’s efforts in preventing smuggling and illicit activities at the airport. The Commissioner reaffirmed Customs’ commitment to Ease of Doing Business and the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Officers and staff of the Air Cargo and Airport Commissionerate participated with enthusiasm, reaffirming their dedication to public service in observance of International Customs Day.
