Kamarajar Port Registers New Record in Container Handling

By handling a record container throughput in July, Kamarajar Port has achieved another significant milestone in operational excellence in 2026.
According to a statement, an all-time high of 67,561 TEUs was handled at the Container Terminal in July 2026, surpassing the previous record of 66,470 TEUs achieved in May 2026.
In addition, Kamarajar Port achieved a new milestone in its rail operations. The port recorded its best-ever rail performance by successfully handling 31 rakes, transporting 2,650 units (4,600 TEUs) through the KPL Railway Siding within the port during the month.
These achievements reflect Kamarajar Port’s continued commitment to enhancing efficiency, strengthening multimodal logistics, and supporting India’s growing maritime trade.
