Kamarajar Port Signs Long-Term Agreement With Isuzu Motors

Kamarajar Port Limited, one of the leading Major Ports under Union Government, announced the signing of a long-term agreement with Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd. (IMIPL) for the export of commercial vehicles through the General Cargo Berth at KPL.
Since 2019, Isuzu’s manufacturing facility at Sri City has been successfully exporting its D-Max and S-Cab models through KPL to key Middle East markets, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan. This long-term agreement further strengthens the trusted partnership between IMIPL and KPL.
The agreement was signed in the presence of J.P. Irene Cynthia, IAS, Managing Director, Kamarajar Port Limited, along with Hironori Okawa, AGM, Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd., Thirumurugan, GM (Operations), KPL, and senior officials from both organisations.
Under the agreement, Isuzu Motors will benefit from concessional wharfage rates linked to export volumes for the next five years, reinforcing KPL’s commitment to providing efficient, customer-centric, and globally competitive port services.
This partnership marks another significant milestone in strengthening Isuzu’s global supply chain while reaffirming Kamarajar Port Limited’s position as a preferred gateway for automobile exports, supporting India’s growing maritime trade and logistics ecosystem.
