Kamarajar Port Celebrates International Day of Yoga 2026

Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21 June 2026 in a grand and inspiring manner, embracing this year’s global theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

The event was organised at the picturesque Finger Jetty within the port premises and witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and stakeholders across the port ecosystem.

The celebrations featured structured yoga sessions conducted by experienced instructors from the Art of Living Foundation, who guided participants through a series of asanas, pranayama techniques, and meditation practices aimed at enhancing physical fitness, mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.

The instructors also highlighted the significant role of yoga in promoting healthy ageing by improving flexibility, reducing stress, boosting immunity, and fostering a balanced lifestyle.

Employees of Kamarajar Port Limited, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and employees of PPP operators and captive terminal operators actively participated in the session with great enthusiasm and dedication, creating an atmosphere of positivity and collective well-being.

As part of the celebrations, a joint yoga session was also organised in collaboration with Chennai Port Authority. The session was graced by the presence of Kurve Sachin Sharadchandra, IAS, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority and Chairman, KPL and S. Viswanathan, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, along with Heads of Departments and employees from both Kamarajar Port Limited and Chennai Port Authority.

Led by qualified yoga instructors and demonstrators, the session guided participants through techniques that promote holistic well-being, balance, and mindfulness—principles that resonate deeply with the theme of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
