NYK and PT. Patimban International Car Terminal (PICT) jointly hosted a commemorative ceremony at Indonesia’s Patimban Port to mark the first-ever call by an NYK-operated pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) at the port’s automobile terminal recently.
PICT is a terminal operating company in which NYK has an equity stake, and the NYK’s PCTC making the historic call was Hyperion Leader.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Indonesia’s port and customs authorities, the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), automobile manufacturers, and PICT shareholders. This celebrated call provided an opportunity to verify the terminal’s operational capability using an actual vessel, while also sharing with stakeholders a new logistics option for vehicle transportation in Indonesia.
