In a significant step towards strengthening Odisha’s maritime tourism, Chief Engineer of Paradip Port Authority (PPA), Himanshu Sekhar Rout, along with officials from the Government of Odisha, conducted a site inspection for the proposed world-class cruise terminal in Puri on 4 April 2026.

The proposed terminal will be developed at Shipasurubali Mouza, a strategically important location near the upcoming Puri International Airport and along the new Puri Bypass road. The site offers strong connectivity, making it ideal for cruise tourism infrastructure.

The project is being developed as a joint initiative between Paradip Port Authority and the Government of Odisha, as part of a broader vision to create a comprehensive tourism and infrastructure hub in the region. The cruise terminal will also complement the prestigious Samuka Project, further enhancing Puri’s appeal as a major destination for both domestic and international cruise operators.
