Vigilance Awareness Week – 2025 Concludes at VOC Port

The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 was held at V.O. Chidambaranar Port on 10 November 2025.

Arti C. Srivastava, IOFS, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest of the event.

In her address, Arti lauded the remarkable growth achieved by the Port over the years and commended its noteworthy Green and IT initiatives. She emphasized that vigilance is a shared responsibility, evolving from punitive to preventive and subsequently participative.

Highlighting the role of AI and feasibility of predictive vigilance, she urged collective action against corruption.

The programme commenced with a signature campaign, symbolizing commitment against corruption and ethical governance. As part of the function,  Arti C. Srivastava released a magazine titled ‘The Voice of Vigilance’ brought out by the Vigilance Department of the Port, compiling the system improvements carried out by VOC Port.

She also distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions organised by the Port as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.

P. Kavin Maharaj, IOFS, Chief Vigilance Officer, VOC Port, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the various activities organized by the Port during the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

He emphasized that vigilance must be embraced not only through policies but also in everyday actions to foster a culture of honesty and integrity.

During the Vigilance Awareness campaign from 18 August 2025, a series of activities like rally, skit, essay writing, drawing, elocution, debate, singing, digital presentation, were organized for employees, school children, and college students. Sensitization seminars and focussed lectures for contractors, vendors and Officers and Staff of the Port were also organised.

The audience were treated with vibrant thematic cultural performances by students from schools and colleges, as well as by VOC Port employees. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from R Padmanabhan, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer. Heads of the Department, Officers and staff of the Port, students from various schools and colleges also attended the event in large numbers.
