Chennai Port Celebrates “Swachh Bharat Diwas 2025” With Beach Cleaning Drive

Chennai Port Authority celebrated Swachh Bharat Diwas 2025 on 2 October 2025 with a vibrant beach cleaning drive in the Port premises (Coastal Road Beach), with active participation of more than 450 employees. The momentous occasion of Gandhi Jayanti thus witnessed the employees of Chennai Port Authority united in their commitment towards a clean and green future, honouring the Mahatma’s ideals for the nation.
Sunil Paliwal, IAS, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority & Chairman, Kamarajar Port Limited, actively led the cleaning drive and addressed the gathering, focusing on the importance of continued and community-based commitment towards Swachhata.
He also mentioned the importance of respecting the strenuous physical activities done by labourers in keeping our environment clean, encouraging everyone to inculcate such habits in their daily life. With the conclusion of the event, the participants engaged in the Signature Board campaign and the Swachhotsav Selfie initiative, commemorating the occasion with an optimistic promise towards a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
