Paradip Port Begins Nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” 2025 Campaign

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) is actively participating in the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, which is a nationwide initiative focusing on cleanliness and sanitation.
The campaign, which runs from September 16 to October 2, 2025 with the theme of “Swachhotsav,” which emphasizes clean and green festivities and zero-waste community celebrations.
PPA’s involvement in the campaign includes a variety of activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The observance of “Swachhata Hi Seva” began with the administration of a Swachhata Pledge to Heads of Departments, Deputy Heads of Departments, Officers and Employees, by P.L. Haranadh, Chairperson of PPA.
Under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” Plantation Drive, the E&CM Division of PPA conducted a plantation drive at Paradip beach, coinciding with the 75th birthday celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under which 40,000 saplings were planted as a part of green belt development.
PPA joined an awareness rally with Paradip Municipality to promote eco-friendly and plastic-free measures during the Biswakarma Puja festival. As part of this effort, reusable cotton bags are being provided by the Paradip Saksharata Samiti as an alternative to plastic bags for festival essentials.
On the auspicious occasion of PM Modi’s birthday, PPA presented dress materials and sarees to 157 of our dedicated Safair Mitras. This small gesture is a big step towards recognizing their invaluable contribution and will surely motivate them for a cleaner, greener and more beautiful.
Chairman, PPA on 17 September 2025 inaugurated two unique structures – spectacles of Gandhiji and a Marine anchor both crafted from scrap materials. This “Scrap to Structure” initiative is part of a larger effort to enhance the beautification of the PPA Administrative Building.
On this occasion, PPA organized a Blood donation camp at Paradip port Authority Hospital, led by P.L.Haranadh, Chairman, along with Senior Official s and employees. This noble initiative reflects our collective commitment towards building a healthier and stronger India. 75 Units of blood were collected.
PPA has a comprehensive plan for the campaign period, which includes:
Awareness drives among local school students.
Display of PPA swachhata awareness hoardings.
A “Swachhata Rath” (cleanliness chariot).
Cleaning of Pump Houses.
Digital displays at important locations in the township.
Human chain and street play programs to further spread awareness. These initiatives align with the broader national goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which aims to transform public spaces and instill a sense of collective responsibility for cleanliness.
