Spices Board Organizes Market Linkage Training Programme for Stakeholders

For the benefit of stakeholders of spices industry, Spices Board, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Regional Office, Bodinayakkanur, Theni district, Tamil Nadu, on 11 August 2025 conducted the Market Linkage Training Programme on Spices.

A total of 60 farmers/entrepreneurs/traders and other stakeholders from Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, and Tenkasi districts have actively participated in the training.

Suresh, Deputy Director, Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agribusiness, Government of Tamil Nadu briefed the various Government schemes, Agri Infrastructure Fund, Facilities available at Mega Food Park, Theni district, District Export Hub (DEH) initiatives etc.,  while S. Senthil Kumaran, Assistant Director (Development) briefed the assistance under SPICED scheme of the Board for export promotion,

Licensing procedures, scope for export promotion of spices from Tamil Nadu.

Azhaguraja, Inspector of Post, Government of India explained about Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras (Export through Postal Services) and the facilities available for Spices based MSME’s in Tamil Nadu for ease of doing business. Few MSME’s from Bodinayakkanur have already kick started their spices export (Cardamom Garland and Cardamom) via DNK portal to Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Kavimugil, Senior Manager, Tamil Nadu Agricultural Products Export Promotion Council (TNAPEx), Government of Tamil Nadu briefed the support for exporters/entrepreneurs and facilitation of IEC through TNAPEx. Sindhuja, TN Grama Bank explained about micro financial assistance, KCC scheme for exporters, traders and the farmers. Rajamurugan, Assistant Director of Horticulture, briefed the Government schemes for export oriented production of spices.
