80th Independence Day: DCI Organises Blood Donation Camp

On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) in association with Helping Hearts and Rotary Blood Centre, Visakhapatnam, organised a Blood Donation Camp at its Corporate Office, Visakhapatnam.
The initiative reflected DCI’s commitment to social responsibility, community welfare and the spirit of voluntary service.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from DCI employees and staff, with around 35 volunteers coming forward to donate blood for the noble cause. Their voluntary contribution demonstrated the values of compassion, social responsibility and service to society, while highlighting the vital role of blood donation in saving lives and supporting patients during medical emergencies.
The camp was inaugurated by Capt. S. Divakar, MD & CEO, DCI, who led by example by voluntarily donating blood. He appreciated the efforts of Helping Hearts and Rotary Blood Centre in facilitating the camp and commended the employees for their enthusiastic participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt. S. Divakar emphasised the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged employees to actively participate in community-oriented initiatives.
He noted that such programmes not only contribute to the well-being of society but also strengthen the spirit of unity, compassion and service that is integral to the celebration of Independence Day.
As a gesture of appreciation, certificates were presented to all employees and staff who donated blood, recognising their valuable contribution towards this humanitarian cause.
The successful conduct of the blood donation camp added a meaningful social dimension to DCI’s 80th Independence Day celebrations. DCI reaffirmed its commitment to promoting community welfare and undertaking similar initiatives in the future, encouraging its employees to contribute actively towards building a healthier and more caring society.
