Valedictory Function of Vigilance Awareness Week -2022 Observed at V.O.Chidambaranar Port

The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2022 was held at V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority on 16 November, 2022.

The Vigilance Awareness Week was observed by the V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority from 31st October to 06 November 2022 on the theme of ‘Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation’, as envisaged by the Central Vigilance Commission.

Shri S. Murali Krishnan, IDAS, Chief Vigilance Officer, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, welcomed the gathering and underscored that the Information Technology (IT) and computerized Land Record Management initiatives taken by the Port has enabled transparency in decision making process.

Shri T.K. Ramachandran, IAS., Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, graced the function as Chief Guest and in his address stated that, as our country is progressing ahead to be a developed Nation, it is imperative that the young minds are inculcated with the values of honesty, discipline, and integrity. He also requested all the Officers of the Port to have a ‘Humane Approach’ while interpreting the regulations and implementing the official procedures, so that the functioning of the organisation  is smooth.

Shri Bimal Kumar Jha, Deputy Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, in his address, stated that the various competitions conducted by the Port for Schools and Colleges would kindle spark among the young minds, on the hurdles posed by corruption in Nation Building Process and would instill a sense of integrity among them.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, the Port has organised a series of competitions like Slogan writing, Essay writing, Elocution Competition, Skit (Drama), Drawing, Singing and Rangoli competition for School & College Students and the Employees of the Port. More than 400 school / college students and employees actively took part in the competitions organised by the Port.

Chidambaranar Port Authority, also distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions in the presence of Shri Bimal Kumar Jha, Deputy Chairman, V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority and Shri S. Murali Krishnan, IDAS, Chief Vigilance Officer, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority. Shri R. Balaji Retnam, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer, Vigilance Department, rendered the vote of thanks.
