JNPA Felicitates Outstanding Contribution From Various Stakeholders of the Port

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India’s best performing Port, conducted JNPA 33rd Annual Awards on July 5, 2022, at the Maritime Public-Private-Partnership Conclave.

Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Tourism, Government of India was the guest of honor for the award ceremony. JNPA felicitated the exceptional work of stakeholders, terminal operators, and shipping lines towards the growth of JNPA in the presence of Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPA, Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Dy. Chairman, JNPA, and all the HoDs and stakeholders of JNPA.

Shri Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Tourism, Government of India congratulated the winners and shed the light on JNPA’s contribution to the nation’s economic growth. He said, “Heartiest congratulations to all the winners for doing phenomenal work in the respective categories. It is through the collective hard work of all, JNPA is functioning efficiently. It has evolved into a globally recognized port by its sheer dedication to India’s economy and the Indian maritime sector.”

Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPA, applauded the JN Port award winners and highlighted their contribution to the port’s development. He stated, “My best wishes to everyone who has won an award today across different categories. JNPA appreciates your efforts which have contributed to making JNPA the best-performing port in the nation. I anticipate the work done by our fellow industry players will not only highlight best practices but also exchange views on challenges and developments in the maritime and logistics sector.”

The awards ceremony recognises the outstanding contribution from various stakeholders of the Port, which helped JNPA to upscale its growth trajectory and continue to push the overall progress of the Indian Maritime Sector. JNPA is committed to the nation’s economic growth and is leading the global value supply chain by providing efficient services to the EXIM trade.

Following is the list of the winners of the JNPA 33rd Annual Awards:

1) HIGHEST CONTAINER TRAFFIC HANDLED BY A SHIPPING LINE AT JN PORT DURING THE YEAR 2021-22: M/s. MAERSK Line India Pvt. Ltd. – 0.91 Million TEUs.

2) 2ND HIGHEST CONTAINER TRAFFIC HANDLED BY A SHIPPING LINE AT JN PORT DURING THE YEAR 2021-22: M/s. MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co. – 0.69 Million TEUs. 

3)                 HIGHEST IMPORT DELIVERY OF CONTAINERS TO A CFS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22:         M/s. All Cargo Logistics Ltd. (ANNEX) – 123,560 TEUs.

4)                 2ND HIGHEST IMPORT DELIVERY OF CONTAINERS TO A CFS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s. Hind Terminals – 111,331 TEUs.

5)                 HIGHEST CARGO HANDLED AT SHALLOW DRAUGHT BERTH BY A CONSIGNEE DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s. Ultratech Cement Ltd. –0.8 Million Tonnes.

6)                 HIGHEST LIQUID CARGO BROUGHT TO JN PORT BY A CONSIGNEE DURING YEAR 2021-22:  M/s. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL)—0.89 Million Tonnes.

7)                 2ND HIGHEST LIQUID CARGO BROUGHT TO JN PORT BY A CONSIGNEE DURING YEAR 2021-22:  M/s. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL)—0.83 Million Tonnes.

8)                 HIGHEST LIQUID CARGO HANDLED BY A VESSEL AGENT DURING YEAR 2021-22:  M/s. Atlantic Global Shipping Pvt. Ltd.—2.2 Million Tonnes.

9)                 2ND HIGHEST LIQUID CARGO HANDLED BY A VESSEL AGENT DURING YEAR 2021-22:  M/s. Samsara Shipping Pvt. Ltd. – 1.04 Million Tonnes.

10)            HIGHEST LIQUID CARGO HANDLED BY A TANK FARM OPERATOR DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s. Ganesh Benzoplast Ltd.—1.54 Million Tonnes.

11)            IMPORTER HANDLING HIGHEST DIRECT PORT DELIVERY (DPD) IN CONTAINERS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. – Value of Rs. 9150 Cr

12)            IMPORTER HANDLING 2ND HIGHEST DIRECT PORT DELIVERY (DPD) IN CONTAINERS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s HP India Sales Pvt. Ltd. – Value of Rs. 8549 Cr.

13)            EXPORTER HANDLING HIGHEST DIRECT PORT ENTRY (DPE) IN CONTAINERS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s. Bajaj Auto Ltd. – Value of Rs. 13375 Cr

14)            EXPORTER HANDLING 2ND HIGHEST DIRECT PORT ENTRY (DPE) IN CONTAINERS FROM JN PORT DURING YEAR 2021-22: M/s Hindalco Industries Ltd. – Value of Rs. 8881 Cr.

15)            SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO M/S. BAJAJ AUTO LTD. FOR HANDLING HIGHEST EXPORT CARGO IN CONTAINERS AT JN PORT DURING THE YEAR 2021-22: Value of Rs. 13711Cr.

16)            SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO M/S. LG ELECTRONICS INDIA PVT. LTD. FOR HANDLING HIGHEST IMPORT CARGO IN CONTAINERS AT JN PORT DURING THE YEAR 2021-22: Value of Rs.9150 Cr.

17)            HIGHEST CONTAINER TRAFFIC HANDLED BY A CONTAINER TERMINAL AT JN PORT DURING THE YEAR 2021-22: M/s. APM Terminal-Mumbai (APMT) –  1.87 Million TEUs.

18)            SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO M/S. BHARAT MUMBAI CONTAINER TERMINAL (BMCT) FOR HANDLING MORE THAN ONE MILLION TEUS FIRST TIME IN A YEAR DURING 2021-22: –  1.24 Million TEUs.

19)            SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO M/S. NHAVA SHEVA (I) GATEWAY TERMINAL (NSIGT) FOR HANDLING MORE THAN ONE MILLION TEUS FIRST TIME IN A YEAR DURING 2021-22: –  1.19 Million TEUs.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) at Navi Mumbai is one of the premier container handling ports in India. Commissioned on 26th May 1989, in less than three decades of its operations, JNPA has transformed from a bulk-cargo terminal to become the premier container port in the country.

Currently JNPA operates five container terminals: The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT), the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), the Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd. (GTIPL), Nhava Sheva International Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) and the newly commissioned Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (BMCTPL). The Port also has a Shallow Water Berth for general cargo and another Liquid Cargo Terminal which is managed by BPCL-IOCL consortium and newly constructed coastal berth.
