Tamil Chamber of Commerce Holds Business Session, Honours Student Achievers, Weavers

The Tamil Chamber of Commerce held its 82nd Annual General Meeting, Business Session, and Awards Function on 23 September 2026 at Hotel Ambassador Pallava, Egmore.
At this event, Saravana Kumar Kumaravasagam, Consul General of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai, and Prof. J. Ranganathan, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chennai, were the Guests of Honour.
Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, Padma Bhushan Awardee, presided over the function. Chozha Naachiar Rajasekar, President, the Tamil Chamber of Commerce, delivered the welcome address, and B. Ravi Kumar David, Honorary Secretary of The Tamil Chamber of Commerce, presented the vote of thanks.
During the Awards Function, the Chozha Naachiar Foundation Awards were presented to the top UPSC-IAS candidates from Tamil Nadu. The three recipients were M. Rajeshwari Suve, UPSC-IAS Topper in Tamil Nadu and All India Rank II; A.R. Rajah Mohaideen, UPSC-IAS Second Topper in Tamil Nadu and All India Rank VII; and R. Sruthii, UPSC-IAS Third Topper in Tamil Nadu and All India Rank XVIII.
Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar Awards were conferred upon G. Punniyakotti for Best Designer in Silk Sarees and K.P. Paramathman for Best Weaver in Silk Sarees and the Sri Champalal Savansukha Memorial Awards were bestowed upon P. Apsara Begum for Best Student in Commerce from Dhanraj Baid Jain College and S. Vishali for Best Student in Commerce from Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women.
