Cochin Shipyard’s Kolkata Unit Hands Over FY 2025–26 Profit Share to Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) on 8 August 2026 handed over a record profit share of Rs 8.8 Crores for FY 2025–26 from the CSL–Kolkata Ship Repair Unit (CKSRU) to Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority (SMPA), Kolkata, after the unit achieved a new milestone surpassing the turnover target.
The cheque was formally presented by Jose V. J., Chairman & Managing Director, CSL, to Rathendra Raman, IRTS, Chairperson, SMPA, during a ceremony held in Kolkata.
CKSRU is a strategic collaboration between CSL and SMPA, established to strengthen ship repair capabilities and maritime infrastructure along India’s eastern coast. The initiative contributes to the objectives of Maritime India Vision 2030 (MIV2030) & exemplifies the collaborative efforts of two premier institutions under Ministry for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India.
The performance of CKSRU highlights the strength of institutional collaboration in building a robust, efficient and globally competitive ship repair ecosystem in Kolkata and across the eastern region.
CSL and SMPA reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing ship repair infrastructure, operational excellence and maritime services, supporting the evolving needs of India’s maritime sector and contributing to the nation’s vision of becoming a global maritime hub.
