Landmark Moment: Kamarajar Port Berths World’s Largest, Most Environmentally Friendly PCTC Vessel

It was a red-letter day for Kamarajar Port Limited on 24 May as the world’s largest and most environmentally friendly PCTC vessel — MV Höegh Aurora — berthed at the port’s General Cargo Berth-1 for RORO operations.

Operated by Höegh Autoliners, the Aurora-class lead vessel sets a new global benchmark in sustainable RORO shipping with its massive capacity and next-generation green technology.

MV Höegh Aurora has the c Capacity of 9,100 CEU, with 14 cargo decks. The vessel’s length is 199.9 metres with 6.5 m ramp for handling High & Heavy cargo.

The successful call of MV Höegh Aurora reaffirms Kamarajar Port’s capability to handle the world’s largest RORO vessels while strengthening its commitment to sustainable maritime operations and its vision of emerging as a leading LNG Bunkering Hub.
