Paradip Port Sets New Benchmark in Thermal Coal Unloading, Handles 50 Rakes in a Single Day

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved a landmark milestone in operational performance by recording its highest-ever single-day thermal coal unloading.
On 25 March, 2026, Team PPA successfully unloaded 50 rakes, comprising 43 BOBRN (Bogie Open Bottom Rapid Discharge) and 7 BOXN (Bogie Open High Sided) rakes.
This achievement reflects the port’s strong focus on efficiency, seamless coordination, and robust infrastructure that enables high-volume cargo handling within tight timelines.
P. L. Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman, PPA, appreciated the dedicated efforts of Team PPA and highlighted that such milestones are a result of meticulous planning, improved turnaround times, and continuous process optimization across operations.
