Chennai Port Authority concluded its week-long celebrations for International Women’s Day on 13 March 2026, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to gender parity and employee well-being.
Under the visionary guidance of the Chairperson of Chennai Port Authority, S. Viswanathan, IAS, and the Chief Vigilance Officer, S. Murali Krishnan, IDAS, the port hosted a series of impactful events designed to empower and rejuvenate its female workforce.
Aligned with the 2026 global theme, “Give to Gain,” the festivities featured a diverse array of activities aimed at holistic development. The week-long itinerary included specialized yoga sessions to promote physical health and a dedicated workshop on mental resilience, equipping employees with tools to navigate the dynamic maritime environment.
The celebrations culminated today in a grand finale featuring keynote addresses from distinguished women, including Dr. Parveen Sultana, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. These speakers shared inspiring journeys, emphasizing the vital role women play in the blue economy. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the talent and contributions of women employees across various departments.
