The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) Kandla on 11 February announced a significant operational achievement at Oil Jetty-01 (OJ-01), where Indian Oil Corporation’s LPG import facility has surpassed last year’s performance.

According to a media statement, as of 11 February, 2026, the facility has handled 133 LPG vessels and 2.61 million metric tonnes (MMT) of LPG, marking a substantial increase over the previous year’s corresponding period of 107 vessels and 2.089 MMT. This represents an impressive 25% year-on-year growth in both vessel traffic and volume handled.

The milestone highlights enhanced vessel turnaround efficiency, seamless coordination between Indian Oil and DPA Kandla, and the port’s commitment to operational excellence in supporting India’s energy imports.

Buoyed by this strong performance, the facility is now targeting an ambitious goal of 160 vessels and 3.0 MMT of LPG handling for the year, a testament to the growing efficiency and capacity at Kandla’s key LPG import infrastructure.

Besides, this achievement underscores DPA Kandla’s role as a vital hub for liquid cargo operations, contributing significantly to India’s energy security and maritime logistics.
