Ravish Kumar Singh Assumes Charge as JNPA’s Deputy Chairperson

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), a premier container handling Port in India and located in Maharashtra, on 9 December extended a warm welcome to its new Deputy Chairperson, Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS.
He was greeted by Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA, HOD’s and JNPA officials. During the interaction, Singh expressed his enthusiasm to contribute towards the growth and modernization of JNPA and shared his vision to further strengthen the port’s efficiency, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
It may be noted that Ravish Kumar Singh Dy.COM (G)/HQ, Central Railway, has been selected for deputation to Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for the post of Deputy Chairperson, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Mumbai, in November on usual terms of deputation for a period of five years from the date on which he assumes the charge to the post.
Singh holds a Engineering degree and brings with him a distinguished and diverse professional background spanning the Indian Railways as well as the private sector. Prior to joining JNPA, he served as the Deputy Chief Operations Manager, Central Railway, a role he has held since Sept. 2023. In his various roles over South East Central & Central Railway led key operational strategies, and efficiency initiatives across one of India’s busiest railway zones.
In addition to his extensive government experience, Singh has also contributed to leading private-sector organisations, including Infosys Technologies, Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), and NTPC Ltd., adding a strong technology and industry-oriented perspective to his leadership profile.
With his multi-sectoral expertise, strategic outlook, and operational acumen, Singh’s appointment is expected to further strengthen JNPA’s commitment to efficiency, innovation, and stakeholder-centric growth.
