Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 in Cochin Port Trust

As per the direction of Central Vigilance Commission, Vigilance Awareness Week was observed in Cochin Port Trust from 28.10.2019 to 02.11.2019.

The theme chosen for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week was “Integrity-A way of life”. Posters were displayed at various prominent locations of the Port and leaflet with information regarding activities for the Week were distributed among employees of the Port.

Vigilance Awareness Week was inaugurated on 28.10.2019 by Dr. M Beena, IAS, Chairperson, CoPT, followed by administering Integrity Pledge to the staff.  Integrity Pledge was administered in various departments and divisions of the Port in which HoD’s / Divisional Officers administered the Pledge to employees.  CoPT officers / staff took E- Integrity Pledge in various departments/divisions.

On 29.10.2019, competitions on poster designing, essay writing and elocution were conducted among students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Port Trust, Govt. High School W/Island and CoPT Nursing School.  About 80 students participated in poster designing, 90 students participated in essay writing and 20 students participated in elocution competitions.

Intra collegiate essay writing and elocution competitions were held at Cochin College on 29.10.2019. Essay writing and elocution competitions for CoPT employees were held on 30.10.2019 and that for college students were held on 30.10.2019. Active participation of students / employees was there in the above competitions.

On 01.11.2019, in the morning session, a talk on the theme “Integrity-A Way of Life” was delivered by Hon’ble Shri. P Mohanadas, Former Judge and Judicial Member of Kerala State Human Rights Commission. In his talk Shri. Mohanadas described the legal aspects on the theme from the constitution level to social and family life connecting incidents from his long experience in the legal field.

Valedictory function was held on 02.11.2019 in which Dr. M Beena, IAS, Chairperson, CoPT distributed the awards to prize winners of various competitions for students of schools and colleges and staff members of CoPT.

A walkathon will be conducted by Vigilance Study Circle Kerala at 7 AM on 03.11.2019 at Ernakulam from High Court Junction to Rajendra Maidan in which participation of CoPT employees also proposed.
