V O Chidambaranar Port Creates New Record in Single Day Coal Handling

V O Chidambaranar Port Trust created a new record by handling 45,396 Metric Tonnes of Coal in 24 hours at IX berth from the vessel M.V. Sea Hope on 19 February 2018 surpassing the previous  record  of 41,376 Metric Tonnes of Coal in 24 hours at IX berth from the vessel M.V. Shi Dai-11 on 13.11.2014. According to a media statement, M/s. Seatrans Ship management Private Limited is the Steamer agent and M/s Sea Port Logistics Private Limited is the Stevedore agent.

Shri I. Jeyakumar, IRTS., Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust while thanking the stakeholders, officers and the employees of the Port who have contributed to achieve this record conveyed that this Port is continuously striving to achieve improvement in Performance and productivity in order to attract more volume of traffic through the Port.  The Chairman requested all the concerned to continue to improve the performance in future also.
