Triway Group Launches Skill Development Institute for Logistics Industry

Triway, one of the leading Chennai-based logistic group, launched a skill development institute through their trust Padmashree Educational Foundation in the name and style of  Padmshree Academy for Training Skills (PATS)  on 27 July 2018 in Chennai.

Padmashree Academy For Training Skills (PATS) an institution collaborates with Bharathidhasan University to Provide skilled persons for the Logistics sector through short-term Diploma, Certificate Courses.  PATS introductory program held in Chennai.

In this program, Mr Ravishankar,  Chairman of Triway Group of companies, expressed that presently, in the logistics industry there is the heavy shortage of skilled persons. The purpose of the institution is to provide aspiring students in Logistics, complete development of skills by providing classroom as well as on job training to make them take up the job immediately after completion of course. The students after completion, of course, need not go for training with Industry as is already provided by the institution during the study period.

Also he added,  when a person goes out of our Institution, he becomes fully equipped with theoretical and practical aspects of the job and immediately fit into it.  Training includes Customs online filing of BE/SB, Manifest Sub-Manifest, CFS operations. The institution offers the course at an affordable cost. Very shortly opening branch near Chennai Port Area for the benefit of employees.

Mr.Saravanan, Co-ordinator, welcomed all and explained  the need for trained persons in Logistics sector Companies which made to open this institution keeping in mind the shortage of skilled middle and basic level staff in Logistics Industry like operation staff, Documentations, Accounts, HR, etc.,

The Institution offers 6 months Diploma Course in Intl freight forwarding & Customs Procedures, International Trade, supply chain and Logistics Management and 3 months Certificate Programme on Freight  Forwarding and Terminal Management, Export-Import Customs clearance and Transportation and E-Commerce and Retail Supply Chain Management.

In this occasion, Mr Gopinath Ganapathi, Registrar,  Bharathidhasan University, Trichirapalli, appreciated the efforts of the management for establishing this institution.  He said normally, the University recognizes, Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil studies only, but due to change in the policy of the Government, BU started recognizing Diploma, certificate courses due to increasing demand for skilled employees in various sectors.  In BU every year, more than 2 Lac students enrolled for various courses. BU is proud to give affiliation to PATS for producing skilled persons to  Logistics Industry.

Mr.Ennarasu Karunesan, CEO, Adani Ports (South) while delivering his speech said, Mr Ravishankar has more than 25 years of experience in the logistics industry. The Logistics sector really in need of a skilled workforce and the effort made by the promoter is highly commendable. Future development of Port, Logistics sector demands more skilled employees.   India has 12 Major ports and Adani Group operates ten  Terminals and  Ports.  As emphasised by our Prime Minister Modi, the Skill India Program should be developed in all states as our country has the highest in the youth population. We can build infrastructure, develop Technology but operate and maintain, we need a huge number of skilled persons.

Also, Dr.Jesudoss, Professor, Loyola College,  Capt. Lawarance-Master Vessel, Secretary-NACFS,  Chola Nachiyar Rajasekaran, President-Tamil Chamber of Commerce, K.V.V.Giri, Former President of CCBA, Leeladharan, President, CHENSAA  attended and appreciated the initiatives  and the need for such Institution as there is a shortage of skilled employees  in the logistics sector.
