TEA Requests For Speedy Clearance of Goods Arrived From China

As the imported consignments arrived from China has not been cleared by the Indian Customs even after making payment in certain cases for the past 10 days, Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) on 30 June appealed to the government to clear them immediately.

Requesting the same in a press statement, Shri. Raja. M. Shanmugham, President, TEA, said he has made representation to Shri. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce to help for clearance of goods immediately, as the delay will cause more ramifications on the already affected Tirupur knitwear garment export sector.

A similar representation have been sent to Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister of Textiles, Shri. Debasish Panda IAS, Finance Secretary, Dr. Anup Wadhawan IAS, Commerce Secretary,  Shri. Ravi Capoor, IAS, Textiles Secretary and Shri. Pranap Kumar Das, Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
