State-of-the-art Effluent Treatment Plant Inaugurated at Paradip Port Hospital

A state-of-the-art Effluent Treatment Plant was commissioned within the Paradip Port Trust Hospital premises on 21 July 2019.

Shri Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, PPT dedicated it to the PPT service in presence of Smt. Subhalaxmi Roy, President, Paradip Ladies Club, Shri Ramesh Kumar Ekka, Regional Officer,  State Pollution Control Board, Govt of Odisha, Shri Basant Kumar Biswal, Chairman, Paradip Municipality, HoDs, officers and employees of PPT.

PPT Hospital already has a state of Art solid waste disposal system. This liquid waste disposal system, adds yet another feather to the cap of PPT for its commitment towards prevention of pollution and biohazard in and around Paradip. After treatment, the water will be used in the garden of PPT Hospital. Thus, it will prevent ground water from contamination.

The plant has a capacity of processing and treating 10 kilo litres of waste water daily. A few such type plants are there in Odisha, it is learnt. It has been designed and installed by the Richardson Cruddas Ltd, Chennai, a Govt of Tamil Nadu undertaking with a cost of Rs. 32 lakh.

A state-of-the-art equipment, called Digital Radiovisiogram (RVG) was also unveiled and added to the Dental Department on the occasion. By this application, the images of tooth and pathology can directly be seen on the computer screen; no need to take a x-ray of tooth nor chemically process and look for the problem. This will strengthen PPT Hospital by enhancing the infrastructure.
