Paradip Port Donates Rs. 5 Crore to Odisha CM Relief Fund for Cyclone Fani

Chairman of Paraip Port Trust Shri Rinkesh Roy met Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik and handed over a cheque of Rs. 5 crore for CM Relief Fund towards rehabilitation and restoration efforts in areas affected by cyclone Fani.

PPT had engaged all resources to ensure cleaning of creeks & drains, functioning of cyclone shelters with provisions like light, fan, generator, overhead tank with water and drinking water facilities. Buses were deployed to evacuate around 8 thousand people from the vulnerable areas of nearby localities. A Control Room functioned at Gate No. 4 round the clock from 2nd to 4th May, 2019. PPT Hospital pressed a dedicated doctor team with an ambulance to provide necessary medical services to the affected. People in the cyclone shelters were provided with both dry and cooked food in Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner along with bottled drinking water. Public Utility services like electricity, roads, water supply were restored on 3rd May itself. Railway operations and shipping operations resumed on 4th May at 09.00 Hrs.
