New Feeder Vessel Commences Operations at New Mangalore Port

The continuous effort of Port authorities to provide the best of service to its customers is yielding the result with TCI Seaways starting new feeder vessel operations connecting Mundra, New Mangalore and Cochin Ports on weekly service. The Indian flagged vessel ‘TCI EXPRESS’ loaded with containers made its maiden voyage from Mundra Port to NMPT on 07.07.2018 and sailed to Cochin Port on same day.

The vessel unloaded 52 containers and picked up 5 export containers from New Mangalore Port. The vessel has a capacity to carry 800 TEU’s with 26,000 DWT. The vessel was first launched in the year 1997. Presently TCI Seaways is operating feeder vessels in East and West coast of India connecting various ports.  M/s Sri Ganesh Shipping Agency is the C & F agent to book the containerized cargo for various destinations. Captain Khanejo, CEO, TCI Seaways, Shri.B.Nagaraja Shetty, Managing Partner, Sri Ganesh Shipping Agency, Traffic Manager and Senior Deputy Traffic Manager, NMPT were present during the occasion.

NMPT is witnessing steady growth in container traffic during the past few years due to the pro-active initiatives of the Port management coupled with the infrastructure addition.  During the last fiscal 2017-18, the port has achieved record container traffic of 1.15 lakh TEUs registering a growth of 23%. The trend is continuing and the Port is expected to register further growth during the current financial year too.
