National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) initiatives is pledging an amount of Rs. 25 Lakhs towards the relief efforts to fight the CORONA Virus – COVID 19.

In a media statement, NUSI said: “We are all aware about the dreaded CORONA VIRUS – COVID 19 which is resulted in lockdown of our beloved country India along with the rest of the world.  To overcome the CORONA Virus is a big challenge.

The Indian Government is doing its best under the circumstances.  The Merchant Navy fraternity is also in the forefront to help our Indian Government.  The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has appealed for financial contributions to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.  The Merchant Navy fraternity has vowed to support as we have done in the past.

The National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) and the Maritime Union of India (MUI) is appealing to the entire Merchant Navy fraternity to contribute to this noble cause.  We will soon share the details of the bank accounts where the individual seafarers and company contributions can be made.  A collective approach is far better under the circumstances.”
