Indian Coast Guard (Eastern Seaboard) ADG Visits Chennai

Additional Director General KR Nautiyal who assumed the command of Coast Guard (Eastern Seaboard) on 12 Apr 18 having jurisdiction over Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (East) and Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East)is on his maiden visit to Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (East) at Chennai from 24 Jun to 27 Jun 18. Earlier, Inspector General Rajan Bargotra, Commander Coast Guard Region (East) and Nidhi Bargotra, President Tatrakshika (East) welcomed the Flag Officer and Mrs Sunita Nautiyal, Tatrakshika President (Eastern Seaboard) on arrival at Chennai.   During the visit the Flag Officer was presented with 50 men Ceremonial Guard at Coast Guard Air Station Chennai on 25 Jun 18.    Flag Officer also reviewed the ceremonial parade.  The Flag Officer closely interacted with Commanding Officers, Officers and men during various planned interactions.  ADG KR Nautiyal reviewed the progress of various operational and infrastructure related issues.

ADG KR Nautiyal is an alumni of US Naval War College, New Port, Rhode Island. He is also an alumni of the US Coast Guard Academy, York Town having attended the search and Rescue and Port Operations Department Course. The Officer has vast experience of several key appointments afloat and ashore. Prominent amongst his sea appointments include command of Inshore Patrol Vessel ‘Naiki Devi’, Offshore Patrol Vessel Varad, Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel ‘Sagar’. On promotion to the flag rank, he was appointed as Deputy Director General (Operational & Coastal Security) at Coast Guard Headquarters followed by Commander Coast Guard Regions North East and West, prior taking over responsibilities of Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard).

The officer is the recipient of President’s Tatrakshak Medal for distinguished service and Tatrakshak Medal for meritorious service.
