Gopal Krishna New Secretary in Ministry of Shipping

In a large scale reshuffle in the Secretary-level officials in the Central administration, the Modi-led government on 11 October transferred 11 Secretaries.

According to a media statement, a 1983-batch IAS officer Gopal Krishna from West Bengal cadre has been appointed as Secretary, Shipping, while transferring the incumbent Ravi Kant as Secretary to Department of Food and Public Distribution.

In another appointment, Alok Srivastav, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping, moved out of the Ministry and has been made full-fledged Secretary to Department of Justice.

It may be noted that the appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared these appointments and orders were issued by the Department of Personnel.
