First Imported River Sand Vessel at Kattupalli Port

It was a moment of great pride for Adani Kattupalli Port Pvt Ltd (AKPPL) when MV LMZ VEGA, a bulker carrying 55,805 MT of River Sand arrived at Kattupalli port during the month of February 2019. This is the first lot of Imported River sand shipment at Kattupalli, discharge of the entire volume was completed within 65 hours. Imported River sand is in great demand and has become increasingly popular within Tamil Nadu, already 2,00,000 lakh MT have been imported into the state via Kattupalli and Ennore ports.

Adani Kattupalli Port Pvt Ltd (AKPPL), a Joint Venture company of APSEZ & TIDCO, is now in the process of developing the port into a state-of-the-art modern port with 30 berths to handle various cargoes like Containers, bulk, break bulk cargo, liquid cargo, Gases, RoRo, Coal, LNG, LPG including Chemicals etc.

AKPPL, India’s most modern port are providing the EXIM Trade in Chennai, Bengaluru and Southern India a whole new dimension of service, speed and sophistication.

AKPPL has the latest technology of Terminal Operating System (TOS) which is the first of its kind in India, which can support the entire supply chain in doing business smoothly. We have installed a World Class drive through container scanner at Kattupalli, the first of its kind in south India ports which is capable of scanning 120 containers in an hour. We are also coming up with a new warehouse comprising an area of 360,000 Sq.ft and liquid tank farms with a capacity of 60,000 KL currently and envisaged to a capacity of 3,00,000 KL.
