A high level delegation comprising 30 leading Indian exporters from Fashion industry will be visiting Mexico and participating in INTERMODA to be held at Guadalajara from 15th to 18th January, 2019 for exploring emerging opportunities in LAC region.
INTERMODA- International Apparel & Textile Fair is the biggest and most important fashion exhibition show in the region which is an ideal place to promote brand image, analyze the competition, step up sales, launch new products, understand the market trends in the Region.
FIEO will be setting up Indian Pavilion which will showcase India’s capabilities by displaying products including Textile, Garments, Yarn , Technical Textiles, Prevent Wear , Work Wear , Industrial uniforms, Leather Bags & wallets , Perfumes ,Cosmetic ,Skin care, Bath & Body Care products, etc.
In the year 2018, Mexico emerged as the biggest trade partner of India in Latin America and Caribbean region and estimated to reach USD 8.3 Billion USD. India is the 8th largest trade partner of Mexico and aimed to reach 4th position by the year 2025. Indian is the 4th largest exporter of Apparel and clothing accessories to Mexico. During the year 2018, India exported fashion related products worth USD 101 million registering a growth of 23% which is remarkable and prove strength of India’s capabilities.
It is expected that in the current global trade scenario, the adverse trade relations with USA and Mexico can be exploited by Indian exporters by converting them as emerging opportunities.
India’s exports to Mexico comprise mainly textiles & garments, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, vehicles and auto parts etc. India’s imports consist of crude oil, minerals, electrical goods, iron & steel etc.
