Chidambaranar Port Trust Creates New Record in Single-Day Handling

V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust on 14 June created a new record by handling 51,413 Metric Tonnes of Coal in a single day at IX th berth from the vessel MV. Ultra Gujarat, surpassing the previous record of 45,396 Metric Tonnes of coal handled in a single day at IX th berth from the vessel M.V. Sea

During the current financial year 2018-19 (Upto 14 June,2018), V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust has handled 28.49 lakh tones of coal surpassing the previous year’s achievement of 26.49 lakh tonnes registering an increase of 7.15 %.

Shri.Rinkesh Roy, IRTS, Chairman, V.O Chidambaranar Port Trust while thanking all the stake holders, Officers and the employees of the Port who have contributed to achieve these records, conveyed that this Port is continuously striving to achieve improvement in performance and productivity in order to attract more volume of traffic through the Port.
