Shri I. Jeyakumar, Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust on 11 May handed over a Sports Cycle to a budding Cyclist Miss J.Srimathi, studying 8th Standard in St. Peters Higher Secondary School, Keelamudimun.
In order to train using professional equipment and achieve greater heights, V.O. Chidambaranar Port, the frontrunner of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives among Major Ports of the Country has come forward to hand over the professional cycle costing Rs. 1,48,490/-to Miss J. Srimathi.
Shri I. Jeyakumar, Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust handed over a Sports Cycle to Miss Srimathi in the presence of Captain Bhabatosh Chand, Deputy Conservator & President of V.O.Chidambaranar Port Sports Council, Smt. S. Shanthi, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer, V. Suresh Babu, Chief Mechanical Engineer, U. Rajendran, Traffic Manager and other Senior Officers of the Port.
Miss Srimathi, who is etching to make a mark in the international level, would be benefited by the professional Cycle granted by V.O. Chidambaranar Port. She had earlier competed in various District level and State level competitions and had won laurels. She hails from Ottapidaram in Thoothukudi District.
