Adani Mundra Port Successfully Handles Diesel locomotive of GE for Indian Railways

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ)’s flagship marine facility Mundra Port in Gujarat has successfully handled first diesel locomotive of General Electric (GE), USA, for the Indian Railways on 10 October 2017.

According to a media statement, the vessel named MV Rickmerse Hamburg has a parcel size of 139.072 MT. The locomotives manufactured by General Electric (GE), USA were received by the Indian Railways, Roza Loco Shed (UP).

STRATEGIC LOCATION OF PORT

With the purpose of Dedicated Freight Cargo Corridor, the selling point for the port was the availability of port based railways infrastructure to facilitate the commissioning of Loco’s. Also the strategic location of port was an advantage.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is India’s largest private multi-port operator. APSEZ is a part of the Adani Group, an integrated infrastructure corporation.
